Video Message for Korea Haiku World Youth Festival 2026
A message to young people about dignity, empathy, communication, resilience, peace, hope, and the sustaining power of poetry.
Invited poets may also share a voluntary video message to meet young people around the world through this space.
Participation is optional, and each poet’s language and individual way of speaking are respected.
Notice on Expanded Participation Options for Minors
Korea Haiku World Youth Festival 2026 has expanded participation opportunities for minors so that more young people can express themselves through haiku and connect with the world.
Previously, minors were generally expected to participate through a representative of a school, class, youth organization, or other institution. To provide an opportunity for young people who are unable to participate through such organizations, a parent or legal guardian may now act as the representative and submit works on behalf of a minor.
How to Participate
All submissions for minors must be made through the “Group Application” process.
For participation through a school, class, or youth organization, a teacher, instructor, or authorized staff member may act as the representative.
If participation through a school or organization is not possible, a parent or legal guardian may act as the representative and submit the minor’s work through the “Group Application” process.
Even when a parent or legal guardian serves as the representative, the submission must be made through “Group Application,” not through an individual application.
Direct applications by minors themselves are not permitted.
This expanded participation policy is intended to provide broader opportunities for creative expression and international cultural exchange while maintaining appropriate safeguards for minors and their personal information.
We hope that no young person will have to give up the opportunity to share a haiku with the world simply because participation through a school or organization is unavailable.
Korea Haiku World Youth Festival 2026 welcomes every young poet’s line—and the world contained within it.
