The British Haiku Society was formed in 1990 to promote haiku and to teach[1] and publish Haiku in English. Its membership of approximately 400 includes members from 27 countries.

The Bu-Ul Newspaper Literary Forum is a literary and cultural community centered in the Busan and Ulsan regions. Founded in 1977 by Dr. Eric Amann, Betty Drevniok, and George Swede, the organization was originally established as the Haiku Society of Canada and renamed Haiku Canada in 1985. Since its foundation, Haiku Canada has provided a community where poets and enthusiasts can exchange ideas, share their work, and deepen their appreciation of haiku.

The Society promotes not only haiku but also related Japanese short-form literary traditions, including tanka, renga, senryu, sequences, haibun, and visual haiku.
